Qwest Field Information

The sun shines on the Olympic Mountains. A breeze from nearby Puget Sound drifts across the playing field. The crowd stirs in anticipation of the game. And just before the players take the field, you take a minute to admire one of the finest sports facilities in the nation...Qwest Field.

Qwest Field is located immediately south of Seattle's downtown in the Pioneer Square neighborhood (on the former site of the Kingdome). The open-air facility is configured in a horseshoe shape that is open at the north end, which includes an impressive tower with bleacher seating and a large, vertical scoreboard and large-format video screen. The stadium offers sweeping views of Puget Sound, the Olympic Mountains, the downtown Seattle skyline and Mount Rainier.

The building is constructed of cast-in-place concrete, pre-cast concrete, steel and concrete masonry units. The color scheme and appearance tie together the historic Pioneer Square neighborhood and Safeco Field, the Seattle Mariner's ball park. At the south end, the stadium is connected to Qwest Event Center and a 2,000-car parking garage.

Qwest Field is home to the National Football League's Seattle Seahawks and provides a new venue for attracting major soccer events and luring a Major League Soccer team to Seattle. The facility features:

  • Open air design with a roof protecting 70 percent of seats.
  • The field is FieldTurf, an artificial playing surface.
